but i noticed that in other parts of the world it is different.when do you celebrate these 2 particular days?? | |
| | What are you hoping your children will give you for Mother's day/ Father's day? | | As many of the MyLot people know, I have had problems with my daughter (she's my only child--thankfully!!) and so I don't hold out too much hope for anything for mother's day. I would be happy with just a card but I know that won't happen. I think the best gift that my daughter, son in law,and two grand daughters could give me is that they have gotten their lives together and have started working towards becoming the responsible people that they should be. I'm not holding my breath on that wish either, after my son in law was arrested for DUI, child endangerment and wrecking the vehicle that they had purchased a month and a half earlier. Two of the felony charges were dropped and the third was reduced to a misdemeanor, but still it was sooo irresponsible of him to drive like he did. It turned out that he wasn't drunk but still as my daughter put her foot down and told him no more drinking outside of the house, and then she is even limiting the amount of alcohol in the house. (while they were staying with me my son in law and his uncle were getting drunk almost nightly!)But, as I say, I just want them to start heading their lives in a direction that sets a good example for the... | |

To that end, you probably consider yourself as your cat's mom and/or pop, since you love him/her very much. One gift that I would appreciate very much is if my cats would become less fussy about canned food. As their "mama," I try to vary their food and give them the best of everything.I could think of other things as well, such as a better string toy. Columbus loves the toy that I use to play with him, but has virtually ripped it to shreds with his claws.Any presents that you'd like to have? I remember before when we were still kids and our elder sisters would gather us around their room to plan on what to do for the occasion. Before, we do not have any work yet so we just make a simple card printed from our computer and contribute an amount from our allowance to buy for a bundle of flowers.Now almost all the ssisters have work, what we do is we plan a month before for a Mother's Day party and a Father's Day party. Everybody would grather around and celebrate for the day. | | Fool's Day is approaching | | I was talking with my friend in Spain via the computer and he was having connection problems. He said his computer was playing with him and I said it was getting ready for Fool's Day. In the states April 1 is considered April Fool's Day, but in Spain Fool's Day is December 28.There are a number of other days that are celebrated in both places but at different times of the year such as Mother's and Father's day. | | Do you ever feel pressured to have children? | | I just want to say right off the bat that having children is never really something i have felt was integral to my life. I am not going to go into the many reasons why i feel this way, but i have a question for you.Have you ever felt pressured by family, friends or society to have children, even if it is not what you feel if right for your life? I know that supposedly the "american dream" is to get married, have children, a house, the white picket fence etc. But why can't some people understand that having children is not for everyone? It certainly didn't take long for the questions and pressures to start either. When i got married (to my now ex-husband), his mother gave a speech at the wedding the ended in "and i am so happy that you two are starting yor life together, and i am anxiously awaiting news about grand-babies being on the way!"...Over the next year, i started hearing it from both of my parents, particulary when i spoke with them on mother's day/father's day.
