Talk about the party you're planning!| A Princess Party | | My nephew has a 3-year old daughter who will soon be turning four. He and his wife usually have a huge party for her to celebrate her birthday. They rent a hall and decorate it to the max, order pizzas, have a pinata, games, loot bags, and the kids love it! This year they gave her 2 choices. A "Build a Bear" party or a "Princess Party". She chose the "Princess Party". He went on to explain what the party detailed. The girls would be pampered, have make-up applied, dress up like princesses, and have cake and ice cream. The cost was only $35 per person, which was about the same price for the "Build a Bear" party. My eyebrows raised when he told me how much it would cost. He chuckled, shrugged his shoulders and said, "oh well, that is what she wanted." I was thinking to myself as he left me standing with my mouth wide open, still in shock, "What will she want for a party when she is sixteen?"Now comes the question, how much is too much to spend on a party for a 4-year old child? I say, have a party with a bunch of family and friends present, have cake, ice cream, a couple of games, and grab bags.

| | Has your wildest dreams come true? | | I was watching the news just a few hours ago when i got this nice realization that "your wildest dreams CAN come true"... this is in reference to a young actress who happily shared her experiences regarding her fairy tale princess party dream which she never thought would come true because of the granduosity of the dream.. She was still in shock when her childhood imagination of being a "princess" in a "fairy-tale" party became real in her 18th birthday. well, this experience of her gave some hope and inspiration to me that sometimes, even your wildest dreams CAN come true. just like her, she dreamed (without expecting it to happen) of being a princess when she was still a small kid, and now, turning 18, her dream was realized. wow. imagine what cloud 9 she must be in.
well, this led me to search myself and even ask others about their wildest dreams? what are your wildest dreams? and has it ever dawned upon you that one of them has already come true? what sweet thought. share your experiences. thanks!
| | Castle Cake Set by Wilton | | Has anyone done this at home yet? My 3 year old daughter is having a dress up princess party at home. I haven't bought this kit but i plan too. I just want to know if this is for a beginner cake decorator or intermediate person. I have been doing cakes for a while so i'm not a beginner. I think i can do it, i would like to know if the kit is really worth it and the total cost of what you spent trying to do the cake at home vs. buying one from the store? | |
| | princess games | | i'm throughing my daughter a princess party for her b-day. i have a few game ideas but i need some more. so far we are going to play... snow white's poison apple (hot potato), jasmin's magic carpet, (where kids step on coloured paper until the music stopes then one colour is picked out of the hat and those people are out), kiss the prince frog ( kind of like pin the tail on the donkey)princess and the pea, read the story and find out if you are a princess and if you feel the small ball under the pillow on the floor.read the cinderella story and a present gets passed from kid to kid when the word cinderella is said. at the end whoever ends up with the girft in hand opens it. so those are my ideas so far. i could use a few more game ideas. we are also doing wand crafts and decorating our own cupcakes | |
