| Too Old To Rock 'N Roll, Too Young To Die... | | Well in 18 more days, I will reach the half century mark...and I'm starting to think about things like senility, nursing homes, heart attacks...all those really COOL things you can look forward to as you get older.[em]doh[/em]And so, I started thinking...being as it is a whole new generation of people getting old, can we expect to someday soon hear the soothing strains of Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden and others of that genre wafting through the corridors of the retirement homes?I mean...I may be getting older, but I still like to ROCK!!! Then it was the tree hugging folk music, and then the glam rock to big hair rock of the 80's with the subliminal messages and risky lyrics of Little Nicki. But I swear, today's music, really is going to be the death of a nation. With the advent of YouTube anybody can make a music video and get seen, sometimes they should be making porn! Yeah, you've still got your mainstream music which tries at least a little to mask the overly sexed messages, and talk about marketing - there are entire albums it seems dedicated to sort of merchandise.But today, OMG, maybe I'm showing my age here but I have had to delete more albums from my PC this weekend and confiscate CD's because of content than I have ever owned in my entire teen years. If you don't know what I'm talking about, a prime example: Millionaires song: Alcohol...my 14 year old asked me to transfer this to her cell phone... huh...so the weekend long music fest which ended with me on the ground in the fetal position crying began.
