| Should I give my daughter a sweet 16 party? | | many of you here know what I have gone thruough with her. I feel I should not give her a party if she does not pass the nith grade. My neighbor who knows of all the problems we have had say I should give her a party. She offered to help with the food money. Getting a cheap dj and having her friend make my daughter's dress. I would hav eto pay to decorate the hall. Pay for the hall as well and god knows what else. On a SSI budget I can't see me doing this. I can give her a few hundred dollars to enjoy the day. But,I don't think she earned a party. Please tell me your thoughts. Mike says she does not deserve anything at all. I say you only turn 16 once. | |
| | My ( spoiled ) sweet 16 | | I was re-re tagging some T shirts earlier ( see discussionhttp://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1827655.aspx about them ) when we got to discussing what was on TV when the topic of the show My Sweet 16 came up. It's that lame show where they follow some overly spoiled rich brat around while they set up a huge party costing hundreds of thousands of dollars for their 16th birthday. Group consensus is that we want to go to one of those tapings & gun those kids down... Seriously that snobby brat who complained because his mother gave him a used BMW ( or mercades I forget which ) valued at $70,000 instead of a new one needs to be shot. I can't stand the show, my wife turns it on the channel then sits down to read ( which I don't get...she's not actually watching it )& eventually this B.S. comes on. Oh look I get to listen to a bunch of snot nosed whiners who will eventually grow up to have their college education BOUGHT for them then land a job as upper management in a company that will end up begging the goverment for bail out money while these guys are off on a company paid resort convention, whine about how the ferrari their parent's just gave them ( which... | |

| | Sweet 16 for a boy? | | My husband and I were talking about sweet 16 birthday party for our girls and what we should do. We went back and forth for awhile. No decisions were made and that frustrated me but he turned to me and said what are we doing for the boys and I looked at him like he had three heads. I always thought boys invited friends over and hung out. Do boys have actual parties. I was just going to let him invite friends give him some money and let them all do what they wanted. | I hate MTV's show "My super sweet 16" | | I hate when I see these little spoiled brats complaining about some $100,000 car that their parents won't buy them. If it's not that, they start having a heart attack because Chris brown or Beyonce can't make it to sing at their overpriced birthday bash! I'd like to bash them little snots over the head with a brick! It's one thing if your parents have money, but to see these little dummies begging for a BMW, at theage of 16..HELL NO! I think the parents that buy their kids these expensive gifts are retarded. They need to teach teir kids the value of money. Some of these idiots have never worked a day in their lives. And they have the nerve to make all these demands for a birthday party, and expensive gifts. I saw one show that had this guy riding into his birthday party on top of a camel, and he had a crown on top of his head. You talk about wanted to smack the sh*t outta somebody!
