Talk about the party you're planning!| Birthday Party! | | I know this is quite a few months away, but my daughter Jordyn is turning 2 years old in January, and my other daughter Jayda is turning 1 year old in January as well. I had a fun little party for Jordyn last year, but since their birthdays are a week apart, I am considering having a joint-birthday party. What do you think? I am worried that it will spoil the point of Jayda's first birthday party. But I highly doubt I could get people to go to two birthday parties in the same month, you know? People don't have the time most of the time, and they have other things they need to do. So what are your ideas? Should I have the party together or separate? I was wondering about the cake idea, and I dont know if I would have them eat their cake at the same time while everyone took pictures and stuff, and the same with the presents. | | What some foods would you serve at a kids birthday party? | | I usually get pizza and make a salad....because most everybody likes pizza. For appetizers..this time around...I put out chips and salsa...I made a bean dip....just a layer of refried beans, sour cream with taco seasoing, letuce, tomatoe and black olives. You can make tacos, or just do kid friendly appetizers....like pizza rolls, mozzarella sticks, veggie tray, bean dip, chips and dip and salsa.For some healthy alternatives you could try
rice cakes with cheese and other semi-healthy things on top
Fruit kebabs - 2-4 different types of fruit stuck on kebab sticksthats all I can think of at the moment! But yeah, try and have a few yummy healthy alternatives that will actually interest the kids... fruit kebabs always seem to be a fave. | |

We are having a little party at home with a couple of games, we'll have the paddling pool out if its warm, and I'm trying to find a cheap bouncy castle suitable for little ones. | | 3rd Birthday party advice needed!! | | To my fellow mothers, I need your help! My daughter's 3rd birthday is on the 18th, and I need help planning games. Normally I would ask my mother for help and ask her to assist at the party itself...however she is not going to be there this year. Some people I realize have a big bashment party and to me the kids can't appreciate a party at that age so, why bother. I have converted it to dollars and its approximately around $500. Since its the first birthday of course I reminded her that it should be special thus it needs to be planned a few months before the big day. I have already asked around and have found a party planner who could include the following: a themed cake, balloon decorations, a host that does -balloon making/magician. The main concern for now is the venue since her house is not that big to accomodate people and for people to enjoy the party.
